Things I Never, Ever Pictured Myself doing in Los Angeles


  • swimming with a seaweed-draped jessica and dolphins in the crashing surf at Malibu
  • singing karaoke at a dive/Thai brothel . . .
  • . . . much less singing a rockin' version of "bohemian rhapsody" (with jessica) at a dive/Thai brothel
  • drinking Peruvian "Panty-Breaker"
  • marching in one of LA's biggest protests ever
  • kicking a hole in my friend's bedroom wall (ok, i didn't do it, but was party to it)



  • riding a former rodeo horse (who was in heat) under the setting sun and full moon directly beneath the Hollywood sign in the hills
  • strolling along Venetian canals
  • going to an airport for the express purpose of eating
